Professional Training and Continuing Education on Ergonomic Babywearing

For over 50 years, DIDYMOS has been dedicated to ergonomic babywearing. What started with the baby wrap has developed into a diverse range of ergonomic carriers over the years. To reintroduce babywearing into society, it has always been essential to thoroughly explore the background of carrying babies and share this knowledge. This includes evolution, anatomy, physiology, and psychology. Together with experts from various fields, we have built and refined this knowledge to offer comprehensive professional training through the DIDYMOS Babywearing School.

What Does a Babywearing Consultant Do?

Babywearing consultants are highly trained professionals who guide parents through the “babywearing jungle” and help them find the best way to carry their baby – from wraps to all types of carriers. Depending on the parents’ needs, consultants demonstrate different tying techniques, let parents try various carriers, or adjust existing carriers so they are comfortable and ergonomic for both parent and child. Consultants support parents throughout the entire babywearing period, from newborns to toddlers. Requirements for carrying change with the child’s age and size. Consultants also assist in special situations or with specific needs. Consultations can be one-on-one, for couples, or in group workshops covering basic carrying techniques, tying methods, and different carriers.

Who Can Train as a Babywearing Consultant? Our training is designed for professionals working with parents and babies, such as midwives, pediatric nurses, and those in physiotherapy, occupational therapy, neonatology, or daycare centers. It is also open to parents who have carried their children and want to deepen their knowledge. Through our practical courses and workshops, you become an expert in ergonomic babywearing and can pass on your knowledge to parents.

Why Specialized Training in Babywearing Consultation Matters

Helping parents find the individually best carrier or tying method, answering questions, and ensuring ergonomic safety requires expertise beyond simply wrapping a baby. The training includes a theoretical component covering all essential foundations and a practical component where participants practice wrapping techniques and learn principles of healthy babywearing with wraps and carriers. As a well-trained consultant, you can confidently meet the needs of both parents and babies.
