Kit tested our Baby Wrap Sling Jersey Doubleface Wool/Cotton
There's so much I love about the Doubleface Jersey Wrap! This really is a hybrid between traditional stretchy wraps and woven wraps. You still get the lower learning curve and compression of a stretchy, but the design also gives you the versatility and support of a woven. It does have a lower weight maximum than a woven wrap, but it's also a lower price point. So if you're looking for a carrier that acts like a stretchy in newborn stage but will last you longer into babywearing to feel out if you want to try wovens, this is a GREAT option! This carrier also makes for an amazing default baby shower gift if you know what size and blend the expecting parents would appreciate.
I used cheaper stretchy wraps for my first three babies and found that we needed more support around 6.8kg, even if the carrier was rated at a much higher weight maximum. When Baby #4 arrived and was significantly larger than the others (4.5kg), I was so thankful to have a Doubleface Jersery Wrap cotton-wool blend for him. Normal stretchy wraps and only being able to do a Pocket Wrap Cross Carry just would not have cut it for me to wear our newest while keeping up with the older kids. With the jersey wrap, I can safely and securely wear him in many different woven wrap-style carries that provide the support I need to stay engaged with the older siblings. This includes walking while holding hands with the toddlers, safely navigating parking lots/crossing streets, starting and stopping breastfeeding without needing to take baby out of the carrier, and doing various household tasks. This well-designed, well made carrier gives new parents the gift of time in being able to journey from newborn stage well into toddlerhood before deciding their next carrier steps.
