Trias Forest Wrap: Understanding the Loose Loop Effect

The Trias Forest wrap combines organic cotton, Tussah silk, and hemp in our signature hollow Trias weave. This blend features a higher hemp content than Trias Pure and uses plain hemp threads, resulting in a distinctive "loose loop effect" visible on specific areas of the white weft on the hemp side of the fabric.

What is the Loose Loop Effect? The loose loop effect is a natural characteristic of this blend and weave, arising from the differing properties of silk and hemp:

• Silk: Elastic and prone to higher shrinkage during washing.
• Hemp: Less elastic and minimally prone to shrinkage.

In Trias Forest, plain hemp threads are used, which interact differently in the weave compared to Trias Pure, where the hemp is twisted with cotton. The twisted cotton-hemp threads in Pure lead to more uniform shrinkage and minimize visible texture differences. However, we chose plain white hemp for Trias Forest to achieve the desired white color in the weave. This, combined with the higher hemp content, contributes to the pronounced loose loop effect in parts of the weft on the hemp side. It is important to note that Didymos master weavers have confirmed that this effect does not compromise the wrap's strength, durability, or safety for use.

Important Notes:

• Inherent Characteristic: The loose loop effect is not a defect but a natural feature of the Trias Forest design. While it may appear as irregularities in specific areas of the white weft, these loops are part of the unique texture of the wrap.
• Appearance Under Tension: While tension may slightly minimize the loops’ appearance, they will not disappear entirely.
• Blend Comparison: Like Trias Pure, the Trias Forest wrap offers breathability and luxurious comfort. However, its use of plain hemp threads and its higher hemp content contribute to this characteristic texture in parts of the white weft on the hemp side.
