A Good Start in Life
When I was pregnant with my first child and childbirth was still so hard for me to imagine, my midwife said to me, "Go out into the city, sit in a big square and watch people. And then remember that each individual was born."
These two sentences had very little to do with birth per se, revealing no secret science, and yet they inspired quite a lot in me. They gave me perhaps the simplest glimpse of our body’s capabilities, they showed me that each of us has been on a birth journey already, that we are not just "there already", but that pregnancy and birth are naturally part of our lives.
They show how important pregnancy and birth are for each and every one of us and how special this moment is. Looking at our lifespans, they really are quite short and we don’t often get the honour of experiencing these special times and that is exactly why good and professional support is so important.
Our midwives are the specialists for these intense life phases of pregnancy, birth and the postnatal period. They support us with their extensive medical knowledge, empathy, patience and experience.
They provide security, trust, advice, guidance, love and so much more for the best possible start for us and our children and our life as a family. Even when life and death are very close together, they accompany us and help us transition back into everyday life.
We truly enjoy working with midwives and have done so since the company started over 50 years ago. We are happy to support them with our work as well and to make a contribution in their work, which they often do for all of us under difficult conditions.
We say THANK YOU to our midwives ...
... for their support during pregnancy, birth and the postnatal period.
... for the security you give us.
... for listening to us.
... for letting us call you day and night.
... for supporting us with words and actions.
... for all the knowledge you share.
... for being there.
